The Spokane Pumas FC will remain committed to being a leader within the soccer industry. We will pursue opportunities to strengthen and grow the club through our growth field and facilities fund as well as our staff and program. We will pursue these opportunities while being fiscally responsible to our members.

Club Style of Play Statement

Unlike most, The Spokane Pumas FC policies and Club Tactical Development are applied across all teams. All teams and coaches must adhere to this philosophy. If you watch Premier teams, they all play the same style. Our trademark style of play is confidence with ball, good dribblers, shooters and offensive minded.

Spokane Pumas FC style of play will be very distinctive because its possession and offensive oriented character; attempts on goal arise thru the use of possession, switch the point of attack and know the time to go forward with the ball. The ball is moved spontaneously, with lots of individual-based play. Our Club teams and players will take it to the extreme with their improvisational and free- flowing play is based on possession soccer regardless of the position of the ball within the field.

This requires a high level of technical skill, time and dedication from every player. We challenge ALL our players to not just kick the ball, but to receive it and keep it away from the other team until an opportunity to score is realized. The reason we teach possession and offensive minded soccer is because it is the basis for building the fun in the game, technical skills, which in the long run is the basis of creating good soccer players and teams. We encourage players to take risks and be creative without fear of losing.

Club Philosophy

The club will develop the individual player in the four pillars of the game:

  1. Technical: A player’s individual technique on the ball and how it is applied to the demands of the game will be our focus.
  2. Tactical: Each player will be evaluated on how they carry out their individual and team tactics during the course of the game. More specifically how they adapt and adjust to the demands of the game.
  3. Physical: Each player will be evaluated by their speed/agility, strength/power, recovery and overall game fitness.
  4. Psychological: Each player will be observed on their soccer attitude on and off the field, i.e., preparation, motivation, emotions, willingness to play and try different positions.

Spokane Pumas FC is developing and always looking for players that possess a combination of these components and more importantly how they apply these components to the demands of the game.
